Privacy notice
How Active Assets Limited handles personal information, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who is responsible for your data
Active Assets Limited is the data controller. We are a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 06348403, with our registered office at 10 Somerset Square, London W14 8EE.

What we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us. If you complete the enquiry form, that is:
- Your name and email address
- Your organisation, if you supply one
- The subject you select and the content of your message
- Your IP address, the time of submission and your browser's user agent string. These are recorded alongside the message as a record of how the enquiry reached us and to help us identify automated abuse.
We do not use tracking or profiling technology, we do not buy personal data from third parties, and we do not build marketing profiles.
Why we use it, and on what basis
We use what you send for one purpose: to read your enquiry and reply to it. Our lawful basis under the UK GDPR is our legitimate interests in responding to business correspondence addressed to us. Where you tick the consent box on the form, that additionally records your agreement that we may hold your details in order to reply.
We keep the technical details listed above on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting the site from automated abuse.
We will not use your details to send you marketing. We do not operate a mailing list.
Who sees it
Enquiries are delivered to a company mailbox and read by the directors. Your data is processed by our web hosting and email providers, acting on our instructions and under contract. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
We may disclose information where we are required to by law, by a court, or by a regulator.
Where it is held
Our hosting and email are provided from within the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. If any provider we use transfers data outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards permitted under UK data protection law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a relationship are deleted within 24 months. Where an enquiry becomes an ongoing commercial matter, correspondence is retained for as long as that relationship lasts and then for six years, in line with the limitation period for contractual claims and our record keeping obligations under the Companies Act 2006.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you may ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete your data, where we have no continuing reason to keep it
- Restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting to processing based on legitimate interests
- Transfer it to you or to another controller in a portable form, where that right applies
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we relied on consent

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
